Vignette: Wisteria

The car turned in to the short driveway.  Wisteria hung from the house eaves and from a crooked trellis.  The purple flowers were scant, faded, and the vines and leaves were meager.  She thought of the wisteria that dripped luxuriously from the Japanese Garden in Golden Gate Park.  However, this wisteria hung.  It fit with the faded aluminum siding, the metal shed, and the oilcloth table covering inside.  She opened her car door, dreading this conversation inside the house.
